Radiant Cut Diamond Engagement Rings

Radiant cut diamonds combine the rectangular outline of the emerald cut with the sparkle of the round brilliant, making for stunning and quite unusual engagement rings.
Radiant cut diamonds, like princess cut diamonds, combine step-cutting with some triangular faceting, but they are usually rectangular in shape (though they can be square) and have blocked corners like those of an emerald cut.
The radiant cut is a relatively recent invention, first created by Henry Grossbard in 1977, and was designed to produce the first rectangular diamond cut to have life (sparkle), fire (refraction) and brilliance (reflection) similar to that of a round brilliant diamond. The original radiant cut had 61 facets, excluding eight girdle facets.
The ideal proportions of a radiant cut diamond are generally considered to be when the length of the diamond is about 1½ times greater than its width. Of course, this is really just a matter of opinion, and indeed you may find different proportions more attractive or better suited to the engagement ring design you have in mind. As with all diamonds, we strongly recommend that you view them in person so that you can make your own assessment.
