Tension Settings

Tension settings produce a clean, modern look, and are very popular for solitaire engagement rings.
True tension rings setting uses only pressure to hold a diamond in place between two sides of the setting, but at Ingle & Rhode we prefer a faux tension setting, where a very small bridge or bezel holds the ring together, and ensures that the stone is held in place securely. This also allows for the ring to be resized if necessary, something which is not possible with a true tension setting (resizing removes the spring-loading effect).
The bridge or bezel in our faux tension engagement rings is invisible to the observer while the ring is being worn, and the gemstone appears to be suspended in the air with nothing holding it in place.
Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions about tension settings or any other diamond settings, or to book a complimentary bespoke jewellery consultation.
