Three-Stone Engagement Rings

Three-stone engagement rings, as the name suggests, are set with three gemstones, said to represent the past, present and future of the relationship which they celebrate. They are sometimes referred to as trilogy rings or trinity rings.

The three stones may all be the same type of gem (three diamonds is very popular) or may be a combination of two different types of gems. Popular designs include a diamond flanked by two coloured gemstones (often rubies or sapphires) or a coloured gem flanked by two diamonds.

The three gemstones may all be the same shape and size, or the central stone may be larger than the side stones, and/or a different shape.
