Yellow Gold Engagement Rings

Yellow gold is the original metal of choice for fine jewellery, including engagement rings, though in recent years there has been increasing demand for white gold and for platinum.
In its pure form, 24ct gold is too soft for use in fine jewellery, and so it is alloyed to make it more durable. At Ingle & Rhode, we source 24ct fair trade gold, and then alloy it with silver and copper to create 18ct yellow gold, which is 75% gold and 25% alloy.
18ct yellow gold is the perfect choice if you are looking for a particularly traditional engagement ring, and may also be preferable to white gold or platinum if you wish to set a diamond that has a slight yellow colour.
Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions about our bespoke engagement rings or any other bespoke jewellery. At Ingle & Rhode, we also offer custom-made engagement rings in 18ct white gold and platinum.
